This is arithmetic, not advice. Your numbers stay on your device. We do not recommend a country, a course or a college.
Why this is hard to find
Most answers online are written by firms selling the service, and they disagree. For Australia alone we found yearly totals from AUD 30,000 to AUD 80,000, and old living cost figures still in circulation. This page shows where each number comes from, and says so when we could not confirm one.
The amount you must show is not the amount you will spend. Blogs often mix the two up, so the calculator keeps them apart.
Pick a country
Japan
Now the top destination for Nepali students, and most start at a Japanese language school.
Australia
Expensive, and refusals rose sharply for Nepali applicants.
South Korea
Cheaper tuition, but 20 institutions are barred from new student visas this year.
UK
The clearest public rules of any destination here. The health surcharge comes back if you are refused.
Canada
The money you must show rose again on 1 September 2026.
USA
Your I-20 sets the amount, so the school's own figure matters most.
Things that catch people out
- Rupee risk. Fees are in foreign money. The calculator shows what a 5% fall in the rupee would add.
- The NOC. Reports give the fee as Rs 2,000 (english.onlinekhabar.com, checked 2026-11-08). The same report describes students being pushed to pay up to Rs 100,000 in bribes. See NOC for study abroad.
- Money you cannot get back. Most visa fees are not returned if you are refused. The UK's health surcharge is (gov.uk, checked 2026-11-08).
Next: check that the college is real, then read before you pay.
