Is this college abroad real?

Some students learn only after they arrive that their college does not exist or is not recognised. Check it here first, using each country's own list.

Last verified · how we check

A place on a list says a college is registered. It does not say the college is good, and we never recommend one.

Why this is hard to do alone

Each country keeps its own list, and some are hard to find. Japan's sits on a Japanese immigration page. The ministry in Nepal has warned of fake offer letters from licensed and unlicensed firms alike, and of students who found out only abroad (myrepublica.nagariknetwork.com, checked 2026-11-08).

The Korean list comes from press reports of the government's announcement. One of the four language programmes, Mokpo Science University, was named by the Korea JoongAng Daily but not by another report we read.

What to do next

  1. Write to the college yourself, using the address on its own website, and confirm your offer.
  2. Work out the real cost.
  3. Read before you pay.
